Game of Thrones: What Chapter (Book) should I start with if I have just seen Episode 9 of the TV series?

I am impressed by the TV series and want to read the book. I know that I could simply start over, but I'm a slow reader and want to get ahead of the TV story. So what's the Chapter that, more or less, corresponds to the 9th episode of the TV series?

If you want to read from episode 9 'Baelor' when that ended, and the book begins, you need to read A Game of Thrones from page 700 onwards, but you'll only have 80 to 90 pages left to read in total. (Or there abouts from the death of Eddard Stark.)



To save the money, what i'd do is, wait for the current series to finish, then read the series from A Clash of Kings (second book in the series) or, read A Game of Thrones then A Clash of Kings, then the following books in the series, you'll be up to date by the time the second series airs on t.v.Game of Thrones: What Chapter (Book) should I start with if I have just seen Episode 9 of the TV series?
the series is the whole of the first book - your missing some good plot lines if you don't read the books. The second series hasn't been filmed yet so you have a year to read the books!



There are 5 books at present (books 3 and 4 are part 3 split into 2 books) the next book is out at the end of July.
