Read or watch Game of Thrones?

I started watching Game of Thrones, and I love it. The problem is that I don't have a clue what's going on, I've had to resort to watching behind the scenes videos and referencing wikipedia. Should I read the books? Would that spoil the show for me?Read or watch Game of Thrones?
The show is going very quickly so it sort of glosses over some of the finer details. For example I think it might be hard to figure out that all bastards in the north are named Snow. It would probably help to read along as you watch but like I said it is going fast I have the 1996 hardback and it looks like we are on pg 186Read or watch Game of Thrones?
I'm reading it right now and haven't watched the show. Which might bea bad idea. Lol

Typically shows cant shows everything that happens the intrspective thoughts, the long conversations etc. So the book will have than the show.

So watch the show first so you don't know what's been left out. After the first season, I think it's safe to read the first book. and get all the additional detail.

Or do both. Read only as far as the show has gone. Wait for the next show. Then read up to that part of the book. I think that will be more fun.

Hmmm. I think I'll do that! Thanks!Read or watch Game of Thrones?
I think it's better to read first :)
Take a look at the family trees at the HBO's home-site. There they list up the characters and their relations to each other.

Reading the books will not spoil it:)
