Anyone who's been watching 'Game of Thrones' know if its worthwhile reading the books?

Absolutely. The books have been called "crack on paper". The show is very well done, but the storylines have been condensed and simplified for TV. That's fine, it's still the best adaptation of a novel I've ever seen. But that said, if you like reading, the books are going to really flesh things out and show you the subtle details that can be missed if you only watch the show.
