i had no idea of the story until i saw it on HBO, but given that we are approaching ep.8 and there'll be qute sometime before season 2... i was wondering if anyone knows or can give me a "guide" as where the series is in relation to the books?Game of thrones the TV series covers what length of the books?
Season 1 = Book one straight up
and that is the current plan for future books as well... however the Author admitted Book 3 could require 2 seasons
and I remember reading that there are 2 books (originally intended as 1) that cover the same time frame but focus on a different characters ie Book A covers half and Book B covers the other half -- chances are these books would be adapted into 'common seasons' so that the actors' work loads are steady rather than having half on/half off so the first halves of A%26amp;B = season A and the 2nd halves = Season B (and it's possible the could do it in 3rds giving a season C out of the material
also keep in mind that the Books are currently intended as a 7 part Saga, and only 4 are out with Book 5 due after the first season ends and 6%26amp;7 are still unwritten (and I believe #5 took almost twice as long to write as any other to dateGame of thrones the TV series covers what length of the books?
Well considering it's season 1 and we're nearly through the actual book Game of Thrones, I'd be safe to bet that they are going for the entire series.
In Fact George Martin was interviewed recently talking about his latest book and how he tries very hard not to worry about how the writers for the series are going to translate it to the show. The new book is the 5th, so as most HBO series run a good 6-7 seasons I think we'll be looking at 1 book = 1 season.Game of thrones the TV series covers what length of the books?
Each season will cover a book. Book 1 season 1. You will have plenty of time to read the 4 books that are out and the 5th book coming out in the summer before season 2.
They are great!.
