If you read the books you'll know where the director changed round the scenes, or how they envisaged a character which you could go, "Mm, didn't imagine her/he being that way." The series is long, slow paced and just like A Game of Thrones expect the unexpected, character deaths and gritty showing. Now the TV show was better paced than the books, so its up to your own discretion to see it or read it first. But its gonna be a while till A Clash of Kings is released on TV, but the books are released now (up until book 5 of 7)
I'd read it, then watch the shows but its up to you in the end like.Should i read a song of ice and fire book series or just wait for the tv show?
Read the books :) cause sometimes they leave stuff out so you might understand it better if you read it
