http://notebookinhand.com has just started up its first book club, and our book is Game of Thrones.
We're reading it 'together', ie a certain number of chapters a week, rather than giving a huge amount of time to read, and then talking about the whole book.
What would be some good discussion topics, especially for the first 10 chapters?
And where could I find some fans who might want to join in with the discussions?Game of thrones discussion topics for a book club?

That's just a few that popped up in a search.
Perhaps you could discuss the differences between the Stark children, how they are treated differently (Bran's kind of a golden boy while Rickon is barely mentioned. Arya is bad because she won't conform, and Sansa is the perfect girl because she does what she's told). Is there a significance to the names that they children chose for their direwolves. What is the significance of Theon's constant smile. Is there a fundamental difference between Baelish and Varys (aside from Varys' mutilation). Danaerys' transformation into khaleesi, is it so she has the khal in her power, for her own gain, or is she really becoming khaleesi. Just some thoughts.
I'm a huge fan of the series. But I can't handle reading only a few chapters a week. I read the first book in a couple days and the series is simply too exciting to read slow.Game of thrones discussion topics for a book club?
Make a facebook page, so many people have it they will see it easier. Talk about why this has happened, the characters feelings why they chose to do this/ say this. What do you think will happen next and why. :) Good luck! :)
