Im tired of hearing about Twilight books and there stupid and ignorant characters. A Game of Thrones introduces much more realistic and unique characters. Any one agree? Give me some opinion.Who else has read A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin and agrees it's better than any twilight book?
That is not asking much. The twiglight books are very poorly written. There are millions of better books. Meyer is just a VERY lucky (and rich) writer for this to happen to her.
I have not read any of Meyer's books, nor do I intend to, so I cannot make any comparison there. I will say, however, that Martin's "A Song of Fire and Ice" series is far and away one of the best fantasy series ever written. The only thing that dismays me is how long he takes in between books. By the time "A Dance With Dragons" comes out, I will have forgotten a number of minor but important characters and any number of sub-plots. And, unfortunately, I will not have time to re-read the preceding books to catch up.Who else has read A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin and agrees it's better than any twilight book?
I read only a portion of Twilight before setting it aside with disgust. The writing quality is mediocre, the message about stalking, manipulation, and using others being romantic fully dismaying.
I'm not a fantasy reader, but I own the Song of Ice and Fire series in hard cover. When I see the first one cheap, at a thrift store or the library's used book sale, I often buy it and deliberately leave it someplace (the gym, a coffee shop), hoping it'll be discovered and another fan made. (Weird, I know.)
For those who fear they'll forget what's going on in the long, long wait between books, save this site: http://www.towerofthehand.com/reference/ sums up books, identifies characters, and more. Great website.
I agree with that first answer guy, but anyway, GEORGE R.R. MARTIN IS A GOD. Seriously. Read the rest of that series, you won't be disappointed.Who else has read A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin and agrees it's better than any twilight book?
Is it really fair to compare a children's book, excuse me "young adult literature" with one written for a mature audience?
