Is the Game of Thrones book(s) as amazing as the TV show?

I just love the new series. Is it following the book closely? Is the book as good/better?Is the Game of Thrones book(s) as amazing as the TV show?
The books are much, much better.



However, with that said, the TV show is also great. The books are just able to touch on things a little better than the shows are able to. For one thing, the Dire Wolves are intricately a part of the Stark Children's lives, and this is hard to convey in the show. There are some other things as well, but that one's the biggest so far.Is the Game of Thrones book(s) as amazing as the TV show?

It's a pretty close adaptation. For TV, they had to simplify things and some of the nuance is missing. If you like to read, they are fantastic books.
