Yes, the Jon Snow in the show is older than the Jon Snow in the book. In fact, a lot of the children characters, such as the Stark children and Daenerys, were aged up a couple to a few years for the show; this was done in part because it would make some of the circumstances and events in the books at least a little less disturbing for the TV show audience.
