Which book series should I read first? LOTR or Game of thrones?

I want to read one of them but I don't know which one to start with

which do you guys think is better and why?Which book series should I read first? LOTR or Game of thrones?
It depends. I'm on book 3 in the Game of thrones (it's really called A Song of Ice and Fire) series and I love it and I've read the first 2 LOTR books and loved them. If you like a little more description and having the story drawn out between the big actions scenes read LOTR. Otherwise, if you want nonstop cliffhangers and action: Game of Thrones. I would read Game of Thrones first. Honestly if you can, read both. My new blog has a review of the 2nd Game of Thrones book if you want to check it out (no spoilers).

I'd read LOTR, because it's a classic, but at the same time you're not reading it just to say you read it. It may seem really old and hard to read but once you get into it it's just as good as any 2011 book. I really love the characters in it. They have SO much more depth in them then in the movies. If you thought the movies were good the books are waaay better. And, to make it fun cause this is what I did when I was reading the series, you can watch the movie that goes with the book when you finish one of them. Hope you like the books if you pick it.Which book series should I read first? LOTR or Game of thrones?
LOTR, simply because it's complete. A Song of Ice and Fire (A Game of Thrones is just the first book of that) isn't finished yet. Book 5, A Dance with Dragons, is due out next month, nearly six years after book 4. There are at least two more books needed to finish the series, with no word on when they might be released. It was originally supposed to be a trilogy...
ok i have lord of the rings, but have not read game of thrones, lord of the rings is better, its fact but that doesnt mean game of thrones is bad in fact it fantastic, but that just tells you how good lotr is.

right now i would read lord of the rings, but watch the game of thrones tv series,

otherwise read game of thrones, the books arnt complete so when you finish reading the ones that are out, read lotr, then read the latest game of thrones release.

btw i dunno how fast you read but it would take me a good month or so just for lotr. :) hope that helps, feel free to add details or questions il answer when i get back to this.Which book series should I read first? LOTR or Game of thrones?
Read the lord of the rings, but start out with The Hobbit. That way when you meet Bilbo Baggins in the fellowship, you know his background. That and it helps you understand the history of middle earth better that way you better understand all the references in the rest of the series.

Happy reading!!
LOTR = Incredible experience
Lord of The Rings. It's a classic and you will be richer for the experience of reading it.
i think you should try to read the one you like by reading the back.
