When is the next book comming out for the series "A Song of Ice and Fire" (A Game of Thrones)?

It's been coming out since 2006.

Here's the latest I've heard from Wikipedia:

"On March 2, 2010, Martin remarked that he had reached 1311 manuscript pages, making Dance the second longest book in the series at that point, behind only the 1521-page manuscript of A Storm of Swords.

...

On July 8th, 2010 Martin spoke at a conference and confirmed the current length of the book to be 1,400 Manuscript pages. He expressed his disappointment that he was unable to completely finish the book by the conference, although he would not speculate how soon the book would be completed after his return home on the 11th. At the same conference, Martin also confirmed that he has written one Sansa, one Arya, and two Arianne chapters for the 6th book Winds of Winter and has transferred two Cersei chapters from that book into Dance with Dragons.

...

The delays surrounding A Dance with Dragons have polarized Martin's fan base, with some of them questioning his commitment to finishing the series."

So, in short, there's still no release date.

EDIT: "Bringing a big fantasy series to a satisfactory close is harder than you'd think."

It's not the end, though. He's already written several chapters for the 6th book and I think a total of seven are planned. This is book five. I agree, these are so high quality I'd rather they come out slowly and maintain that level than degrade just so they can come out faster, though.

Oh, and for what it's worth, the HBO series should debut in early 2011, so that will help tide us over for a few seasons, I hope! When is the next book comming out for the series "A Song of Ice and Fire" (A Game of Thrones)?
Some months after George finishes it. Bringing a big fantasy series to a satisfactory close is harder than you'd think. Writers really have to struggle with that one.

Know what? You want him to take his time and do it right. You've put a lot into following this series. You don't want it ruined by a rushed or sloppy ending.
