Game of thrones question - about books?

I have now seen first (and only season there is) of game of thrones... and I have to say I absolutely freakin love it and now I want to read books, season two takes too long to come out for me, but can I start from second book or is it recommended that I start all the way from first book (even if I just watched first season -__- )?

thanks!Game of thrones question - about books?
Start with the first book. The show stayed pretty faithful as a whole to the book - moreso than adaptations usually are - but there are still changes and things left out, backstories cut, etc. The first book is a great introduction to the series and you won't be left confused by things that were covered in the book but not the show when they are brought up again in later books - the series will be more cohesive if you start at the beginning. Also, one of the great things about the series is how each chapter alternates whose viewpoint it is told from. While we follow the various characters in the show, it's not the same as getting inside their heads and really understanding where they're coming from and what their thoughts and motivations are.

The books are long, yes, but GRRM is a great writer and they are very engaging reads. If you are really desperate to move on you could probably start with A Clash of Kings, yes, but I wouldn't recommend it - you won't regret it if you start with A Game of Thrones.Game of thrones question - about books?
I have no idea what game of the thrones is, but i do know that most shows aren't the same as books, its best to read the first. There's certain details the shows can't cover. I usually like books more than movies/shows because they're more details and a lot of the stuff gets cut out...

Just my opinion?
