Can anyone recommend me some good books?

I'm currently one the lookout for some good books to read.

I'm a fan of all Tolkien's works as I like the old style prose. I also liked a couple of the Kate DiCamillo tales (such as Despereux and Edward Tulane). I'm a fan of fantasy (with not too much magic, more of a medieval feel) history and tragedy.

I read stories for the beauty of the prose so if it is a mystery there is little chance that I ill actually read it.

If it helps here's a list of recent books I read and what I thought.

The Children of Hurin by Tolkien - My favourite book, I love the prose and the tragic looming feeling that surrounds it

A Game of Thrones by George Martin - It was a good story, though I found it painful to read, it kind of forced me to read on to find out what was going on so I gave up after this book and check the internet to see what happened in sequels.

Faust by Goethe - was okay, kind of confusing

Fallen by Lauren Kate - Liked some aspects of it (the angels and history parts), storyline was horrible stopped reading halfway through

Call of the Herald by Brian Rathbone Kindle ebook temporally free
I just started reading Fireshadow by Anthony Eaton. It's about 2 people, but in different times. They both feel imprisoned. One emotionally, one physically. It's really good so far. Here's the blurb:

When he closed his eyes the fireshadow started leaping again and he remembered the crackle of the laughing flames and the nauseating despair that drove him down through his pain and into unconsciousness.

Some battles are imposed upon is, some fought from within...

When Vinnie Santiani's sister is killed, he runs from the world to the isolation of the bush, driven by fear and loneliness.

In 1941, Erich Pieters leaves his family to fight with Hitler's Wermacht in the sands of North Africa.

Amid the rain soaked forests of South Western Australia, these two young men's lives collide across the years, changing them both as they struggle to escape their pain and the memory of fireshadow.
Graceling by Kristin Cashmore

-The Ranger's Apprentice

-All the Tamora Pierce books-it has a medieval feel to it, and magic. There are about 4 different series in the book. You could start with series called "The Legend of Beka Cooper." There is a little magic in it, but not as much as the other series. There is also "Trickster's Choice," which is more history and mystery. These two series are some of the later series, but all of her books are really good.

-Count of Monte Cristo (really good, but a bit long, but its worth a read)
Daughter of the Forest by Juliet Marillier

The Mists of Avalon by Marion Zimmer Bradley

Le Morte D'Arthur by Sir Thomas Malroy
