Would you read a series based on the following story line?

I got the inspiration from many areas: Harry Potter, the Zelda games, Dark Crystal, and more.

Jimmy Jackson is a 8 (or so) year old boy who lives with his grandmother in our world. All he knows in his life is the quiet town where they live on top of a hill. He has a normal life and does sports and things. Has lots of friends. But he has always had a interest in fairy tales, and other adventure books.

His grandmother has a private study in their house, and a door that he has been told never to open. However one night he is awoken unexplained by something calling him to that door.

Inside he finds a door (of some sort) to another world.

He arrives in a huge forest of trees that seem as tall as the sky. Large birds with humans or creatures riding in saddle like devices swoop among the trees.

Jimmy wants to leave, not sure what to make of what he has discovered, but finds the way home closed. WIth no choice he proceeds.

What he finds is that he is a fairy guardian. The world he finds is kept safe by fairies. As long as they exist, evil can never destroy the peace. But, for some time, a dark shadow has been creeping across the lands. Crops are dying, water is going bad. And worst of all, fairies are dying. No one is sure what the shadow is.

The Fairy Council (the members are human size) are ran by the Fairy Queen, a very powerful woman-sorcerer, and she it turns out is like a great aunt of Jimmy's. He was born here to parents who had died at some point. He was taken by his grandmother to our world.

Jimmy is becoming one of the last fairy guardians and must gain help, including a cyclops with extreme vision, and others. He must learn his past, and his destiny as a fairy guardian.

Along the way he will meet the fairy queen who has ive designed a very colorful throne room. Pots of gases but colored that flow upwards into the air like curtains. A indian like guy who can make flames show pictures and visions. I have a few others so far thought up but notsure what all they will do.

He must learn skills, gain allies, and seek out the sorce of the shadow before all the fairies die and evil rules the land.

My original plan was children's picture books, but it would either way be several books long.

The first book would be about him arriving into the world, meeting the cyclops who is mean and nearly wants to attack him. He must tame the cyclops. He also meets the fairy queen and the fire dancer guy.

Each book would be compiling of places he must visit, skills and trials, and forming his army.Would you read a series based on the following story line?
The basic idea of "child grows up thinking he's ordinary, but is really the Chosen One Who Is Fated To Save The World From The Ultimate Evil" has been done many times before (Star Wars, Harry Potter, the Belgariad, even (spit!) Eragon). That's not to say there's anything wrong with doing it again - just that you need to be aware that it's been done many times, and that you need to put a few twists on the concept to make it your own.

You seem to have a decent imagination, so you have a chance of making this work. I'm a bit too old to be reading books with lots of pictures, but good luck.Would you read a series based on the following story line?
