Kouko

“Let this world be held responsible for its unforgivable acts of crime.”Ayumu said under his breath while continuing to endlessly write in a dark covered notebook.

The shadows hugged the room and the light kissed the moon. “Kaito,” Ayumu said, “How does this world continue to survive despite the fact that it’s built upon a throne of deceit?”

The large creature stood as still as the shadows. “Tomorrow will just be another day; a simple way to evade everything going on here. I only wonder what goes on when I’m stuck in this prison. To know that I am justice and that one day I’ll fix all the wrong in this world. Kaito, I’ll talk to you tomorrow, but for know we have to get some rest.”

Welcome to Kouko, an online Japanese game meant for people to connect from all over in search of what the heart desires most. It is a dangerous game and has been shut down by the federal government several of times, and yet it continues to exist. It, itself, is immortal. It will continue prevail.

The hooves of the rushing horses trampled the dirt road as their riders closed in on their destination. “They’re coming,” Kazumi whispered. At the sudden sound of her master’s voice Ami snapped to attention.

“Did you say something Kazumi-dono?”

Kazumi’s eyes, which had remained closed, slowly opened. While rising to her feet she spoke softly. “It is time for me to leave.”

“But Kazumi-dono,” the child pleaded, “you’ve only been here for a mere two days!”

“You are fully aware of what will happen to you if I am found here.” She kept an expressionless look while gazing through the window. She moved towards the girl and rested her hand upon her shoulder. “Thank-you Ami, for your hospitality; take care of your mother…”

The girl gazed into Kazumi’s emerald eyes. “Kazumi…” the girl attempted to debate, but the echoing of horse hooves on the cobbled stones was coming nearer. From the sound they had neared a village just a few miles south. The girl moved her clammy hands around the knob of the heavy wooden door where she beheld the terror of the ruthless bounty hunters. Fear trembled through her vocal chords and her words were few. “Kazumi, who are they looking for?” she forced out through shortened breath. Her heart raced frantically while the fear traced her jaw. Her hands shook violently to reach her lips as the pending question resulted in a fruitless answer. She turned around to see the single open window, with the fierce wind blowing through.

“Damn it!” Ayumu said abruptly, thrusting open his eyes. He jumped out of bed, walked over to his desk, and turned on the t.v. A news report flashed urgently across the bottom of the screen. The television blared in the quiet of the empty room despite the volume being set so low. “It’s not real…” he tried to comfort himself as his mind raced; breath quickly shortening. He swiveled his computer chair around and flipped the monitor on. Ayumu’s fingers flew gracefully over the keyboard while his eyes darted impatiently back and forth across the computer screen.

Welcome Kitashi!

“Where is she?” Kitashi ran about the court yard, shouting in the air addressing anyone who he came into contact with.

“Where is who?” was the frequent response, but a question which received no answer. Kitashi angrily walked through the meadows and to various villages where a dark entity blocked his path. He unrequitedly reached for his sword which rest idly upon his back. “I’m warning you… I’m in a really bad mood.”

“My name is Ikari.”

“Yeah, so…” Katashi’s voice grew impatient and he shifted defensively; gripping tighter to the handle of his blade. Ikari’s eyes glanced to the blade of the sword which condescendingly glared back.

“I’ll have you know I did not come here for a spar, but rather to help you in your troubled state.” The tall man in a long dark cloak spoke.

“Well,” Kitashi relaxed, “are you going to tell me or not?”

“Heh~”Anime fans! Want to send some feedback on a book me and my friend wrote?
That's excellent. I would love to see how that turns out (which is big since I'm not a book fan). Would this be a book or would you make it into a comic, manga, anime etc.?
