A Song of Fire and Ice help?

Ok, now I would just like, with as much detail as possible, to find out when exactly Eddard (Ned) Stark dies.



I don't need to know how... Just like what book and what chapter. Please?



I've been watching the HBO series Game of Thrones based on A Song of Fire and Ice, and I would like to gage what point I'm at and how far left to go until, you know... he kicks the bucket.

He gets killed in the first book, (spoiler alert) in 'The Game of Thrones.'



You see Eddard's death through the chapter of Arya's perspective, not Sansa's (in the book). Its the scene after the one of the first major battles in the series, when the host from Winterfell march to the Neck then to the Twins (its a diversion, because Robb Stark marches his cavalry to Riverrun, and a battle happens there, someone, a Lannister, is captured (i'll not reveal who)). Also another major player dies right before Eddard is killed, that person dies who is close to Dany (Daenarys. sp) Its near the end of the first book, page 700 odd.
