Game of Thrones-TV/Book Questions?

So, I heard 'A Game of Thrones' (the show) was awesome, so being me, I started reading the book. (I have to read books before movies/TV)

So, I haven't finished the first book yet, but when I do, can I watch the first season? Like is the first season just the first book?And when is the next season of the show starting?Game of Thrones-TV/Book Questions?
It really doesn't matter whether you watch first or read first...So long as you do both...



I started watching Game of Thrones first (I was waiting for the books to arrive)...I was about half way through the series when the books came and I just devoured the first 4...They were just so good...



I love that George R. R. Martin is involved in the TV series, and it sticks so close to the books...
