Whats are some of your the best fantasy novels or Authors?

I've read a massive amount of fantasy novels. I love fantasy, what can i say. I guess its something about taking my mind to a fantastical world full of wonderful things and adventure. Alas i'm running out of good novels or at least i'm running out of novels my friends and i know of. Here are my top three. Please feel free to tell me your top three fantasy novels or Authors? A few words about your number one, two, and three would be great as well!

1.) A Game of Thrones/the song of ice and fire series - Who would have thunk it... the plot keeps spinning and spinning where will it go next! Gimme the next book PLS!

2.) A Magicians Apprentice (Raymond Fiest series that follows) - Great books, i've enjoyed them!

3.) Almost everything by R.A. Salvatore - He's able to put the actions sequences into words and paint a picture for you that is just astonishing.

4.) The Wheel of Time Series - He spends so much time explaining everything else he forgets to explain the fight scenes in depth...cry. Still i enjoy his books. For example when Lan fights the other sword master, then walks in from the other room when its done... WHAT THE DUECE! I WANNA SEE!Whats are some of your the best fantasy novels or Authors?
I'm a Fantasy nut as well and love both Martin %26amp; Jordan. Getting a bit sick of waiting for Martin to get on with it though :-)

I think you would like The Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. It's an amazingly intricate world with magic and battles everywhere.

Katherine Kerr's Deverry series is another good read and at 15 books it will keep you going for quite a while. The timeline jumps around a bit but it's a good story with twists and turns galore

I'm also a fan of David Eddings (a bit lighter that Erikson, Jordan and co. but good all the same) The Belgariad/Mallorean series %26amp; The Elenium/Tamali series are fun, interesting and fast paced...although his style of writing can get a bit tedious at times.

Others authors I enjoy are Sarah Douglas, Robin Hobb, Peter V. Brett, Brandon Sanderson(he of the completing WoT) J. V. Jones and Stephen King's Talisman %26amp; Gunslinger series

Hope this gives you something to be going on with :-)
- Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. Honestly, I'm not that much into vampire books but as you get further in the series the vampires aren't the main thing anymore. They're awesome books and they're very addictive.

-Harry Potter series by J.K. Rowling. Do I really have to explain this one?

- J.R.R. Tolkien - The Hobbit. I love anything by Tolkien really. The story is just amazing.Whats are some of your the best fantasy novels or Authors?
'A Great and Terrible Beauty' by Libba Bray.

It is the first book in a trilogy.

The other books are 'Rebel Angels' and 'The Sweet Far Thing'.

Amazing series, definitely worth a read.
Ah! I know! I love Robert Jordan too!

Try...

The Hunger Games

The Book Thief By Markus Zusak

The Immortal series by Tamora Peirce

Some authors

Terry Goodkind (similar to Robert Jordan)

Kelly Armstrong

These are some of my favorites, try them out.

Happy reading!Whats are some of your the best fantasy novels or Authors?
twilight it is an awesome love story
Well I have to say that I would probably put J. R. R. Tolkien's "The Hobbit" and "The Lord of the Rings" at the top. I read them 20 + years BEFORE the movie.

The Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini (Eragon, Eldest, Brisingr) Great, very exciting adventure story involving dragons, elves and and a whole new magical world. Easy to lose yourself in.

Harry Potter series by JK Rowling... pretty self explanatory. Absolutely awesome in every possible way!

Sookie Stackhouse series (TrueBlood) By Charlaine Harris (women would probably enjoy these more than men) - soooo addictive!!

And I don't want to sound like a stupid little Twi-hard, but the Twilight saga is pretty good too.
Well i love the Immortal Nicholas Flamel series, it's about Nicholas Flamel and his wife Perenelle Flamel they are the guardians of the book of Abraham. There is a prophecy stating "the two that are one the one that is all" and more that i can't think of but any way, it's about to twins that can save the world or end it. But they must protect the book and the twins [if they find them] form the evil Dr. John Dee who works for the dark elders

And my next favorite book is the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series is about a boy who finds that he is a half blood half human half god he meets many friends and enemies on his journeys and many creature and fights the Kronos. Over all it's a good series and well worth a read.
I'm a huge fan of the Harry Potter series.

I know some people criticize them for the way they are written and how they're not as great as some people give them credit for, but I adore them. I like the characters and I like the plot. things actually happen. And at the end of the series, it's all sort of tied into all the books of the series. nothing's all of a sudden plucked from thin air just so because they could... no, it has ties to the beginning of the series... it's kind of incredible how well planned everything was.
