What makes a girl a nerd/geek?

I mean there is tech and book smart nerds and geeks and ladies can fall into that category as much as guys. But what I am talking about here is comics, superheros, video games, science fiction, fantasy and that kinda stuff. I consider myself a massive nerd because of my dad. I love DND, Bioshock, Elder Scrolls, Silent Hill, Portal, yada yad those kind of games. I have an ever growing collection of old Marvel and DC comics. I love Doctor Who and Stargate and old StarTrek, BSG, Caprica, those kinds of shows. And have just begun reading Game Of Thrones and have read all of LOTR and loved it. Personally I think I am a huge nerd and I relish in it, it gives me a bit of unique-ness plus I have realized guys like a girl who can actually play video games(not just COD...I hate COD lol) So do I sound like a nerd and if not, please pray tell, what really makes a nerd so I can up my repertoire. What makes a girl a nerd/geek?
Well, I consider myself a nerd (and my friends say I'm the nerdiest person they know, and they're pretty nerdy too), and a very proud one at that.

You sound just like me, seriously. Every word you're saying I'm agreeing with about myself (and yes I'm a girl too)! Yes, it does give me a sense of uniqueness too!

I would definitely consider you a nerd!!! :P

To me, someone is "nerdy" if they love things like comic books, graphic novels, science-fiction, fantasy, video/computer games... just as you mentioned. I mean you could go into the very literal definition/probably the original definition, which has already been mentioned, but... I don't know, being a nerd means something different to me than that. Again, it seems like we both agree about what being a nerd is, and so: in my opinion, yes you do indeed sound like a nerd :D

Perhaps, if you want one thing for me to add to your list? You could play card games too! Like Magic, Yugioh, etc. (I prefer Yugioh but most people would say Magic)

Also I don't know what subjects you like at school, but physics, math and astronomy are pretty nerdy subjects.
Nerd: Someone who loves math or books,They don't have to wear glass's like the media puts it as.

Geek:Really obsessive with comics, math, books,I am considered "Geek"

Hope I helped!

But really people think these things because it's all over TV that all nerds are so said "smart" but it can be the complete opposite in fact it is a lot of the time , you could just love something like math , but be super bad at it but do it 24/7 and be a "Nerd/or/geek"What makes a girl a nerd/geek?
i like all the answers and I like books, maths, comics etc.. but no one calls me a nerd, the popular guys sometimes hang out with me and my friends.
I don't noWhat makes a girl a nerd/geek?

I believe you are much to cute to fall in the category of nerd, geek best fits you. Im a computer nut. I build computers, fix them for friends for free "its my hobby" and I game alot, I consider myslef a geek. Nerd just seems a bit derogatory.... So geek it up girly!
i'm a little bit like you. all my friends (including guys) all call me the lovable nerd of the group because i'm fairly dorky. I wear reading glasses and i chose these massive black rimmed ones that i'm just so proud of.

i LOVE star wars, lord of the rings, star trek and pretty well most science fiction movies. I'm a serial reader, i always have 3 or 4 books on the go (currently re-reading the HP series for the millionth time and this novel called enders game), i like old school music, especially rock (but i think i get that from my parents) and i LOVE writing my own stories. i'm also a horrible klutz. its rare if i get through the day without falling down, tripping over, breaking something or hurting myself somehow.

Anyway, i think to be a geeky girl or nerd is pretty well the same for guys, except for some reason, we can get away with it more as being cute, which kinda sucks for guys.

i don't like anime very much and i suck at video games however i'm a little obsessive about marvel movies and comics.
