My compliments ! You have eclectic tastes in reading ; Franz Kafka's "The Trial". The Iliad , Thomas Hardy , Fyodor Doesteyevski , Turgenev , any book considered among the classics , etc . . .

I have tried to expand my reading by reading Asian authors e.g. Akutagawa , Kobo Abe , Haruki Murakami , et.al.

To be widely read and highly literate facilitates a cosmopolitan perspective and is conducive to gaining a synoptic overview of the world .

Lastly , please do not overlook The Bible .

Happy %26amp; safe holidays ! :0)
please remember that these are only the books i have read in the last 2 months i have read many other books

Book recommendation?
Try Godless, it is pretty good
The Giver.Book recommendation?
well, i havent read any of those, but:

the twilight series by stephenie meyer. my absolute favorite books. i think that if you ask someone to explain the story, it sounds really crappy, but if you read it for yourself, it is awesome! i highly recommend!

a great and terrible beauty and rebel angels by libba bray. the first book is really slow at first, but it gets really good afterwards. the second book is like 10X better than the first too. they are both really good.

tamora pierce's stuff. my favorites are "the immortals quartet" and "the song of the lioness". she writes really good fantasy. she has different sets of books that all relate to each other. they are really good.

i also just read "the truth about forever" by sarah dessen. it was really good. one of those "typical" teen love stories- but really good! and it put me in a really good mood too.
well if you like magic stuff and have read all harry potter you should check out Magyk, by angie sage
Inheritance Cycle is really good

Eragon(1st bk), Eldest(2nd)- by Christopher Paolini

the other two books arent published yet
Try "The Ramson Scallop" for an easy read,(for average reading skilled 15 year olds)i know, the title is weird. you'll find out when you read the book.

"The Divide"."Back to the Divide", and "Jinx on the Divide" for a quick and adventrous trilogy
1984, Orwell

The Grapes of Wrath, Steinbeck

Hemingway

Something more modern? Try The Amazing Adventures of Cavalier and Clay
Til We Have Faces- C.S. Lewis.

or

Siddhartha- Hermann Hesse
If you're into video games, skateboarding and best friends stories I think you might like my novel GAMEPLAYER: The Genesis Portal.

GAMEPLAYER follows the adventures of Nine-dog, Gator and Louie; three racially diverse buddies growing up in the skateboarding, video gaming obsessed Santa Monica, California beach life-style.

It's available at the normal online sites like amazon, B%26amp;N, Borders, etc.

You can check it out free by reading the prologue on my site www.myspace.com/gameplayerbook.

Not meant as a commercial just a suggestion,

Gary Anderson
If you enjoyed A Game of Thrones then I suggest following the series through - there are several books out now that continue the story, with the fifth forthcoming.
You haven't read any Dostoevsky?

You must read Crime and Punishment. It is phenomenal and required reading for any lover of wisdom.
Any of Terry Pratchett's books, any Dalhi Llama (I just slaughtered that spelling I know), and I know someone already suggested Tamora Pierce but she's a very good author and she has a LOT of books.

Other wise try Devil in the White City, Mien Kamf is disturbing, yet a fascinating incite into Hitler, Population 485 by Mike Perry, or The Greatest Generation
No Promises in the Wind by Hunt

The Locket by Evans

Cheaper by the Dozen by Gilbreth

Of Mice and Men by Steinbeck

A Christmas Carol by Dickens

Joshua by Girzone

The Acorn People by Jonees

The Hobbit by Tolkien

The Chronicles of Narnia by Lewis

To Kill a Mockingbird by Lee

Uncle Tom's Cabin by Stowe
