Will reading along with an audiobook help me with my reading and vocabulary skills or will it not benefit me?

I'm currently reading "Game of Thrones," along with many other books. I'm reading to learn and enjoy, but more importantly I want to read to increase my vocabulary and reading comprehension/skill. Will an audiobook be just as effective as reading it on your own, or will it slow down the process since I'm relying on a voice rather than reading it in my head? Will reading along with an audiobook help me with my reading and vocabulary skills or will it not benefit me?
if you mean listen to the book while also having the book in front of you and reading it then yeah it will help you, as long as you actually read the words and don't just scan over them while listening to the audio book. reading it out loud along with the tape will also help.

if you mean just listening to the book, not actually reading along then no, that will not help at all.

another thing that's really good for helping you to read well is watching tv with the subtitles on, i used to do that all the time growing up and my parents said it really really helped.
