Will reading along with an audiobook help me with my reading and vocabulary skills or will it not benefit me?

I'm currently reading "Game of Thrones," along with many other books. I'm reading to learn and enjoy, but more importantly I want to read to increase my vocabulary and reading comprehension/skill. Will an audiobook be just as effective as reading it on your own, or will it slow down the process since I'm relying on a voice rather than reading it in my head? Will reading along with an audiobook help me with my reading and vocabulary skills or will it not benefit me?
Depends. Some people believe that with listening you absorb the language, while with reading not so much. I agree, cuz when you listen you simply absorb. You don't wonder - should the verb be before the noun or its other way around.

So audiobook is a great choice. But also reading. Anything will increase you vocabulary..

But If you simply want to comprehend better and talk better then you should listen more. If you want just to increase your vocabulary then you should read.

But I understood that you read while you listen. Isn't that right? If so, I think that's not so good cuz the audiobook may go faster then your reading...Will reading along with an audiobook help me with my reading and vocabulary skills or will it not benefit me?
Try reading with it at first.

Then read it again by yourself and if you stumble across any words you do not know. stop and look it up.

Ive done it before and it really helps your tempo in reading and your vocabulary. (:

Try both at the same time. You will eventually see which works better for you--the one that really leads your thoughts..
