Sci-fi/Fantasy book Series with Strong Female Leads?

I'm looking for a good series to read with strong female protagonists/leads. Any recommendations? You can recommend along the lines of book series such as Mists of Avalon and Song of Ice and Fire (Game of Thrones), LOTR.



I'm not looking for YA books like Twilight, Mortal Instruments or Hunger Games (Although, I actually enjoyed the latter).



If you need a theme - I enjoy reading Arthurian/Camelot sorts, Dystopian futures, Epic or Medieval.

As far as fantasy is concerned anything by Tamora Pierce. All of her series feature strong females.
